Christina Gelsone

Christina (The Circus Kids Create, Circus Around the World) has masterfully ringmastered residency programs for Circus Minimus since 2003. She has been a professional clown and mime for five years, and has taught extensively. As a clown, Christina has performed around the world, including much of Europe, Venezuela, Singapore, Kosovo, and Afghanistan. Her specialty, non-verbal slapstick, allows her to cross language barriers everywhere, from the tall kids in Holland to the schoolgirls in Afghanistan who had never before seen a performance. She has taught at several universities as a guest lecturer, and was a faculty member of Adelphi University for two years, teaching mime, physical theater, commedia dell'arte, and dance. In the Bronx, she has taught at several elementary and middle schools, with students ranging from 2nd to 8th grade. Most of her theater training was received at the Dell'Arte School of Physical Theater, but before her years as a clown, she was a professional ballerina and a graduate of Princeton University. After all those years as a dancer and bookworm, she now makes her living as a stiltwalker, juggler, and by making people laugh!
