Benjamin grew up in Glasgow, Kentucky where he cultivated his love of art-making in his mother's dance classes, on a local equity theater stage, and with the GHS Marching Band. His interest in creative learning led him to Brown University, where he graduated with a concentration in music. Later, he moved to New York, completed NYU's Dance MFA program, and has been working as a choreographer, sound artist, teacher, and performer with great people like Basic Assembly, Hotel Savant, MAYDANCE, Douglas Dunn, Gerald Casel, Walter Dundervill, Pallissimo, and Daria Faïn.
